Lamisil is an antifungal medication used to treat infections caused by fungus. It works by killing the fungus, the fungus causing the infection, or to prevent hair loss.
Lamisil is available in two formulations: as a tablet (twice a week) or a cream (twice a week). The daily dose is typically taken on an empty stomach, three times a day. Lamisil is prescribed to treat symptoms of hair loss, such as thinning or shedding of hair, in men. It is also effective in promoting hair growth by killing the infection.
Lamisil should be used under close medical supervision, especially during pregnancy or breastfeeding, as it may cause birth defects or unwanted pregnancies. It is important to inform your doctor of any pre-existing liver conditions, as this could lead to jaundice or hepatitis.
